FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX – On Monday, October 21st, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility released a poll of Texas general election voters. Conducted by CWS Research, the poll shows Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris by 5. It also shows 53 percent of Texas voters believe Kamala Harris and the Democrats will raise taxes.

As it relates to Texas issues, 77 percent of voters believe Texas property taxes are too high, 55 percent say Texas should pass an E-Verify law, and 67 percent say Texas should ban the practice of taxpayer-funded lobbying.

Texas voters also strongly approved of efforts requiring local governments to obtain voter approval before increasing taxes and passing legislation to prevent China and Chinese nationals from acquiring land in Texas.

TFR President Andrew McVeigh issued the following statement:

“Texas voters are fiscally conservative; they know property taxes are skyrocketing, and they want the Texas Legislature to focus on common-sense reforms that put citizens first. As the election ends, Texas lawmakers should be getting ready to come to Austin with a reform agenda of real property tax relief, fiscal responsibility, and other pro-taxpayer reforms that ensure Texas is the best place for American families, workers, and businesses.”

Polling data can be viewed here.
