Austin, TX—Texans for Fiscal Responsibility (TFR) is proud to announce that Destin Sensky has joined the organization as its Executive Director, effective immediately. With a background in public service and conservative advocacy, Sensky brings a wealth of experience to help lead the organization’s mission of promoting fiscal responsibility and limited government in Texas.
“Texas taxpayers deserve a government that works for them, not against them,” said Sensky. “We are committed to growing TFR’s footprint and impact, educating, equipping, and engaging more grassroots Texans than ever before. Destin Sensky has served conservative causes for over 10 years, including roles in the Texas Senate, as a Capitol journalist, and as a leader on campaigns across the state. Though a native of Tennessee, he has called Texas home for over 18 years. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he studied Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, and Political Science. He and his wife reside in Johnson County and are active members of Trinity River Baptist Church in Fort Worth. His deep roots in the community and commitment to conservative values align seamlessly with the goals of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility.
President Andrew McVeigh commented on Sensky’s hiring, saying, “Destin will be a dynamic addition to our team. TFR has experienced substantial growth this year, and with the help of Destin, we will have an even bigger impact. Woke and weaponized government must be stopped, and people must be able to own their own homes instead of renting them from the government through onerous property taxes. Destin will work to ensure TFR remains the largest fiscal watchdog organization in Texas so we can continue to fight for taxpayers aggressively.”
Founded in 2007, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility set out to champion fiscal conservatism and policies that put Texas taxpayers first. TFR launched the Fiscal Responsibility Index, a biennial report-card that grades lawmakers on their budget, tax and liberty-related votes shortly after.
Since then the organization has called out corporate welfare, crafted the Texas Prosperity Plan to eliminate property taxes, and has spearheaded legislative efforts to ban taxpayer-funded lobbying and cap spending growth at every level of government to prioritize the needs of Texas families.
