The 2026 Republican Party of Texas Convention in Houston has just wrapped up at the end of last week, and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is proud to report a complete and total success.
All three of our primary legislative priority goals were included in the final 15 priorities that delegates considered on the floor. We also secured an additional, significant win with the inclusion of Municipal Receivership.
- Eliminate Property Taxes
- Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying
- Abolish the Texas Lottery – Stop Predatory Gambling
While we don’t yet know which of these delegates voted into the final 8 priorities to be sent to lawmakers, we are confident that delegates now clearly understand the urgency of our agenda for next session. We look forward to making substantial progress on each of them when the 90th Legislature convenes in Austin next January.
On the platform front, we successfully incorporated all seven of our primary policy initiatives (and municipal receivership), in their entirety, into the 2026 Republican Party of Texas Platform.
Along with the formal wins, the narrative and messaging victories we achieved at our booth and throughout the convention center among delegates, elected officials, and grassroots activists were unprecedented in TFR’s history.
We were also thrilled to record a series of one-on-one interviews with many of the movers and shakers in Texas politics. These conversations gave us valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes work, policy goals of other organizations, and the strategies lawmakers are pursuing to advance conservative priorities.
We’ll be releasing more in the coming weeks, including highlight clips, convention snippets, and major takeaways we believe every supporter should know about.

Your commitment delivered a massive win as we head into the 90th Legislature.
